About me
Whether you are an expat looking for counseling or a couple who needs support, I am here for you.
I am Dora Tothfalusi, an English speaking Psychologist from Budapest. I work online with expats & digital nomads from all around the world.
My main goal is to help foreigners who need support with settling in a new country or dealing with personal issues. I obtained my MA in Counseling and Educational Psychology at ELTE University, and I became Couples & Family Therapist at the Hungarian Family Therapy Association. I also work with Schema Therapy.
I traveled the world and broadened my horizons by discovering different cultures and learning languages. I lived, studied and volunteered abroad & experienced the advantages and disadvantages of new beginnings in a foreign place. It is important to have support wherever you are – I can provide professional help for You no matter where you are in the world.
I believe in the power of the transgenerational patterns that shape how we choose a life partner and influence what type of parents we become. In counseling I like to focus on topics that may have been too difficult to talk about previously in order to liberate repressed feelings & memories. I help individuals and couples overcome the typical patterns (schemas) that keep them from experiencing closeness and intimacy in relationships. I have a Holistic approach with a wider focus on Mind & Body, mental health & healthy lifestyle. I did my PhD research in Existential psychology which focuses on meaning of life & purpose.
I’m always using techniques that seem to work best for You. If you want to raise your self-awareness, figure out what’s holding you back in your life & would like to build a stable and balanced relationship with your partner, get in touch with me.
